The first main switches are fixed into the cab, near the driver seat. Many versions are manufactured: different levers, different fixing means.

The products are still fixed in the cab, directly on the floor. Some versions have a protection on the lever to avoid water and dust infiltrations.

Some constructors like VOLVO install, the main switch in its actual place: inside the battery-box. This is true for the trucks equipped for the transport of dangerous goods, ADR.

The main switches are now fixed on the chassis, or into the battery box. They are all protected by a treatment (zinc plated, chromating). In addition to its main function of battery cut, it could also be an anti-theft device by means of a removable key.

Soderep-Ecans is able to entirely fit an ADR truck: main switch, control switch in the cab, solenoid valve, this in accordance with the ADR regulation. The new generation of main switch appears: the bi-stable main switch. It can be installed alone or in combination with many accessories.
